71% of registered voters in Benson turned out today to stand in line for approximately 45 minutes to cast their ballots. By the end of the night 2027 ballots had been cast along with 68 provisional ballots and 873 early ballots.

GOLDSBORO, NC - Wayne Community College Continuing Education will offer a free workshop and a class on succeeding at small acreage farming.
Tony Kleese of the Earthwise Company promises a lively discussion of the market opportunities and production practices that are allowing farmers across the state to make a living at farming, what the local food movement is about, and why consumers are supporting it. “The demand for local and organic food is very strong and growing,” he said.

magazines (slick shiny pages not over 1/4 inch thick)
plastic bottles with a neck (except motor oil and pesticides)
glass-clear, green and brown
mixed paper(copy paper, notebook paper, office and computer
paper, junk mail, shoe, soap and cereal boxes)
RECYCLE PICK-UP EVERY OTHER THURSDAY

As a follow up to the April 2012 Harnett Street missions program, an opportunity to serve Christ in northern Ohio is being assembled.
Missions volunteers would travel from the Benson, North Carolina region to Madison, Ohio the weekend of October 4-7, 2012. The intent is to leave Benson on Thursday morning and return on Sunday night. Service work will include things like construction, painting, landscaping, evangelism and awesome fellowship!
